Battery and Motor
The bike has a 48V, 768-Watt lithium-ion battery that provides up to 60 miles per charge. The battery locks onto the frame; it’s easily removable so you can store or charge it away from the bike. A charger is included in the bike package.
The battery is situated low and centered on the frame, which provides good balance for the bike. At the top-end of the battery case is a USB charging port which you can use to charge your cell phone.
Driving power is provided by a 500W hub motor. The distance you can travel on a single battery charge would vary between 30 and 60 miles, depending on the level of assistance you’ve selected.
Top assisted speed is 20 mph.
Should you ever be unable to continue a ride (e.g. because of a damaged wheel or puncture), the bike has a 4 mph walk-assist function which makes it easy for you to walk it home.
Frame, Handlebar and Wheels
The Moscow-Plus ebike weighs in at 57 pounds and has a 6061 aluminum alloy frame.
At the center of the handlebar is the LCD display panel, where you can monitor your battery level, assist level, speedometer and odometer. For extra bursts of speed, a thumb-operated throttle is conveniently situated on the righthand side of the handlebar.
You can choose between 2 wheel sizes: 27.5″ and 29″.
The bike is fitted with front and rear hydraulic Tektro disc brakes. Most brakes on the market today are mechanical brakes, which can cause problems when you are riding in wet weather or on muddy roads. Hydraulic brakes have a much better brake effect than mechanical brakes.
By all accounts, the NCM Moscow-Plus electric mountain bike is a versatile ebike. Does it sound like the right electric bike for you?
