Driving power is provided by a 500W hub motor. The distance you can travel on a single battery charge would vary between 30 and 60 miles, depending on the level of assistance you’ve selected.

Top assisted speed is 20 mph.

Should you ever be unable to continue a ride (e.g. because of a damaged wheel or puncture), the bike has a 4 mph walk-assist function which makes it easy for you to walk it home.

Frame, Handlebar and Wheels

The Moscow-Plus ebike weighs in at 57 pounds and has a 6061 aluminum alloy frame.

At the center of the handlebar is the LCD display panel, where you can monitor your battery level, assist level, speedometer and odometer. For extra bursts of speed, a thumb-operated throttle is conveniently situated on the righthand side of the handlebar.

You can choose between 2 wheel sizes: 27.5″ and 29″.

Brakes

The bike is fitted with front and rear hydraulic Tektro disc brakes. Most brakes on the market today are mechanical brakes, which can cause problems when you are riding in wet weather or on muddy roads. Hydraulic brakes have a much better brake effect than mechanical brakes.

By all accounts, the NCM Moscow-Plus electric mountain bike is a versatile ebike. Does it sound like the right electric bike for you?

Eahora AM 100 Electric Bike

Electric bikes are trendy nowadays. People have been ditching their cars for bicycles, particularly for work commuting purposes. Furthermore, since the advent of e-bikes, some have taken to these bikes instead.

In this regard, the Eahora AM 100 would be a reasonably priced commuting bike — except it isn’t one built strictly for commuting. The AM 100 is an electric mountain bike designed for inclines and rough terrains, seeing as it can certainly take a pounding.

Well-built and easy to use, Eahora’s AM 100 is a popular choice in mountain e-bikes. Find out why you might want to consider it.

Build

Let’s start off with what it’s made of. A mountain bike, electric or otherwise, should at least be lightweight and sturdy. It’s safe to say that rough terrains are common when going away from civilization.

And yes, the AM 100 is very convenient for this purpose. The frame is a very sturdy and resilient aluminum alloy. Even its crankset and positioning chain are made of aluminum. Not only does this make the AM 100 extremely light for its category (60 lbs.), but it also makes it very durable.

The build allows for maximum weight support of 300 lbs., which means you can most likely bring along a hefty backpack with room to spare.

Motor

At first glance, Eahora’s AM 100 looks like a fairly standard mountain bike, albeit a top-of-the-line model. It is, as a matter of fact, equipped with a 350W motor powerful enough to go up to 35 mph on level ground. This likely makes it one of the most powerful in the price range.

The motor runs on 48 lithium-ion batteries. With them, you can pull off 45 to 60 miles of travel on a single charge. Of course, this depends on the mode selected. Once the battery is dead, it will need about six hours to fully charge. Of course, you don’t actually have to charge it in full to ride again.

What It’s Made for

Sure, you can just as easily ride this bike in the city and use it for the commute. With the 35mph top speed, it will make for a seamless, if not a hair-raising experience.

But the AM 100 wasn’t designed for commuting. It’s a mountain bike that happens to be equipped with a motor to amplify your cycling experience. The programmed modes allow you to engage the motor for different levels of push as you cycle. Instead of stopping for some rest, you can cover an extra mile or two if you’d just engage the motor in full. The best part is that if you could just refrain from using the motor the whole time, you might be able to go than 60 miles.

However, perhaps the best feature on top is the E-PAS system. Essentially, what it does is that it allows you to recharge the battery when you’re riding at certain conditions. The system also knows when to cut the engine without affecting speed, which allows you to get more range and still enjoy the ride to the fullest.

Speed, Brakes, and Tires

This mountain bike is equipped with a 9-speed Shimano transmission system. This is very common with mountain bikes as it accentuates their climbing power. What you get is better terrain adaptability.

You also get F/L hydraulic brakes that have excellent response and feel. Smooth rides are what you can expect from the Eahora AM 100, almost independent of the ground.

To top things off, the AM 100 has 27.5” tires that offer excellent shock absorption. This is very important for your comfort, but it’s also crucial for the e-bike as thin tires can result in damage over time. Some road-riding tires don’t even work well with curbs. The AM 100’s tires, however, are relatively thick for both comfort and durability.

Adjustability

Ideally, any vehicle should be adjustable enough to fit one’s style, size, and ergonomics. And while you don’t have to be a professional mountain biker to use this e-bike, the ability to customize your ride is always good to have.

With respect to the above, the Eahora AM 100 features an adjustable air suspension and preload and a lockout-enabled suspension fork. Rest easy if you’re not sure what this all means. For the time being, you only need to know that these features allow you to tweak your ride to your style. It’s also for comfort and a smoother ride.

The Three Modes

As mentioned earlier, you can switch modes on this bike. Normally, using just the motor (without pedaling), you’ll get somewhere 45-60 miles. Things aren’t that simple, though, with the three modes.

First, we have Electric Mode. This doesn’t require you to pedal but it’s also the most demanding on the battery, shortening the range to between 45 and 50 miles. The E-PAS Mode engages the E-PAS function and when used alone, the range is 50-55 miles. Finally, the Sport Mode offers only a little motor help and you’ll be able to ride 60-80 miles in this mode.

With the engine cut off, the Eahora AM 100 turns into a regular mountain bike and you can then go as far as you want. You also might be able to switch in and out of modes to conserve the battery.

Summary

Eahora’s AM 100 is one of the best mountain e-bikes for the money. It can beat out even some of the more expensive models and is suitable for beginners and pros alike. Very comfortable, adjustable, light and sturdy, the AM 100 can be an excellent choice, especially considering all the features you’ll be getting. Comfortable and smooth biking is what you can expect from the AM 100, whether you’re climbing hills or commuting.

The cellphone holder is equipped with a USB socket.

Dashboard has 3 buttons: first is the electric gear switch, the second checks the time and mileage and the 3rd is the LCD backlit display. Long-pressing the 1st button and the 3rd button will switch between miles and kilometers.

Frame

The ebike has a 6061 aluminum alloy frame which is foldable for easy transporting in your car. The folding size of this bike is:

  • length 43 inches
  • width 28 inches
  • height 43 inches

Modes of Locomotion

There are 3 different ways you can use the Wallke foldable ebike:

  • electric power only
  • pedal-assist (pedal and motor together)
  • pedal-only power (use as traditional bicycle).

Battery and Charger

This Wallke ebike is powered by a 48V 10.4Ah large-capacity, anti-theft, Samsung lithium battery. Charging time is generally 5-7 hours. The battery can be removed for charging (48V smart charger and intelligent controller are included). This bike can be upgraded to a 14Ah battery, if you need a stronger battery.

It is very easy to remove and replace, although you can also charge it on the bike. When you’re out on the road, the battery can automatically recharge when riding downhill. You should be able to travel for 25 to 30 miles on a single charge.

The charger can use voltages from 110v to 240v. It will automatically convert according to different voltages.

The ebike comes with a separate key to lock the battery inside its frame so it can’t be stolen.

You should completely charge the battery pack before using for the first time.

Motor and Accelerator

The Wallke ebike is propelled by a 750W brushless motor; maximum speed is 22-25 mph. You’ll find the electric throttle on the right-side handlebar grip. The more you twist the accelerator towards you, the faster the motor system will propel the bicycle.

Brakes

The bike is fitted with a double-disc hydraulic brake system. Most brakes on the market today are mechanical brakes, which can cause problems when you are riding in wet weather or on muddy roads. Hydraulic brakes have a much better brake effect than mechanical brakes.

Warranty Information

  • Battery warranty for 10 months
  • Motor warranty for 10 months
  • Charger warranty for 6 months
  • Controller warranty for 6 months

Cons

Eahora XC 100 Electric Mountain Bike

The XC 100 is no commuter’s bike, although it can easily be used for that purpose. At its core, it’s an electric mountain bike that’s packed with features that can make your biking excursions not only easier but more immersive.

Although it comes at a very affordable price, make no mistake as Eahora’s XC 100 is a quality e-bike that you’re not likely to regret getting. This is especially true if you’re new to electric mountain bikes. Get ready for a smooth hill-climbing and biking experience.

Who Is It for?

Yes, let’s elaborate on this question. Upon reviewing its list of features, this bike may not seem like an ideal commuter’s bike. On the contrary, though, there’s no reason not to get this e-bike for your commute despite the fact it’s a mountain bike.

If the price tag seems high, bear in mind that most good commuting e-bikes are significantly more expensive. While it’s true that you can get a cheaper e-bike online, remember that e-bikes are complex machines that can break down easily, especially those from the no-name manufacturers. But not the Eahora XC 100, which definitely boasts a quality build that’s resilient enough to repel the rigor of going downhill and up.

On the other hand, the XC 100 is definitely good at being what it’s designed to be – an entry-level electric mountain bike. You might end up inclined to get an Eahora XC 100 after reading this review, let’s see.

Build

One of the most important factors in mountain bikes is the build quality. In addition to durability, it also has to be light enough for inclines and rough terrains.

The solution that Eahora came up with is aluminum alloy. Moreover, the Eahora AM 100 comes in at a comfortable 47 lbs. This is impressive enough even without considering that it actually has front suspension, which generally adds weight to a mountain bike.

Suspension

For road bikes, good suspensions are nice to have but you might be able to live without. With mountain bikes, the suspension is a whole other story. Although Eahora XC 100 doesn’t have the most cutting-edge front and rear suspension, it’s good enough that it has both. The aluminum shoulder iron leg mechanical fork on the XC 100 allows for 100mm of travel, which isn’t the best in the world, but it’s pretty good for the money.

What’s more, it’s highly tweakable. Preload, lockout, and compression adjustments are possible, which can be said of all models in this price range. That said, this suspension will be able to mitigate a good amount of shocks, but extreme downhill riding isn’t recommended with this bike.

Battery

The battery and the range separate electric mountain bikes from the regular. In the case of the Eahora XC 100, it has a 48V battery that has a total capacity of 10.4Ah. That’s 10.4A at 48V for a full hour, good enough to give you up to 50 miles of pedaling assistance. This is above-average all things considered.

Another crucial thing here is the battery placement. While a lot of people might buy an electric bike based on its battery capacity, it’s perhaps equally important to consider the location of the battery. For the XC 100, it’s located on the downtube such that the center of gravity of the bike is lower. This enables the weight to distribute more evenly across the bike, which is great for handling.

Another thing to consider is how easy to remove or replace the battery. The Eahora XC 100’s battery is removable so that you can charge it separately from the bike. Yes, it’s like getting a regular mountain bike with an optional battery. Also keep in mind that not all models offer this feature. Finally, the battery uses Samsung cells. Of course, Samsung is one of the top names in recharging lithium batteries.

E-PAS

If you don’t know what Eahora’s E-PAS technology is all about, it’s best explained through the servo system on vehicles. Basically, it’s hydraulics that can greatly improve the bike’s handling. This feature can be very important when riding on rougher terrains. More than that, however, Eahora makes such a big deal about E-PAS because it is the company’s patented technology that allows auto recharging of the battery when the bike is going downhill at a certain speed and above.

Speed

Speaking of speed, it’s perhaps not too important for casual mountain biking. However, if you’re going to use this bike for commuting, you should know that the top speed is 28 mph, which is a lot. In fact, this bike may not be legal to ride in certain urban areas of the United States, so you should definitely look into this first.

Still, it’s legal in most areas and certainly for mountain biking, which the XC 100 is expressly designed to do.

As for the drivetrain, the Eahora XC 100 features a 7-speed Shimano Tourney derailleur. This isn’t a lot but more than enough for light-to-medium duty mountain biking.

Brakes

Most mountain e-bikes in this price range feature rim brakes, which are not perfect for mountain biking but are cheaper and lighter. In contrast, the Eahora XC 100 is equipped with disc brakes for both front and back, which is exceptional for this price range.

Additionally, the brakes have integrated motor inhibitors. They cut motor power whenever you use the brakes to conserve power.

Summary

Eahora’s XC 100 is a great choice for an entry-level mountain e-bike for its brilliant handling, brake capability, and detachable battery.

The Eahora XC 100 may not be the most advanced mountain e-bike on the market, which it doesn’t pretend to be, but the buyer will be getting a lot of value for the money.

Cons

Ecotric Fat Tire Folding Electric Bike

Many people are using e-bikes for commuting and that’s because it’s the original purpose of e-bikes in the first place. This is why commuter e-bikes exist and they can be quite different than mountain e-bikes, both of which come with benefits of their own.

Back to the topic at hand, the Ecotric Fat Tire Folding e-bike is one of the most popular on the market. As you can tell, it’s very compact and can easily accommodate indoor and vehicular spaces. Here’s more about this Ecotric model.

Motor and Battery

Needless to say, the motor and the battery of e-bikes are interdependent. Without any fuel, the battery is the motor’s only source of power. In this respect, the Ecotric bike’s motor packs quite a punch. At 500W, it’s on par with what’s offered on some more expensive models. This is a brushless motor, meaning that it uses magnets to turn the transformer, rather than any shafts. This means no friction and therefore less heating and better performance and reliability.

The battery is rated at 36V and 12Ah, which is more than enough for most commute situations. But you can also tell that the 500W rating for the motor is peak power – because P = IV (I = current and V = voltage) and you’re not going to get 500W from 12A times 36V.

The range is 18-23 miles of assisted pedaling and the maximum speed is 20mph, which makes it legal almost anywhere.

The battery takes 6-8 hours to charge, meaning that you’ll be ready to roll at the break if you charge it as soon as you get in the office. It’s important to note that the battery can last as much as two-and-a-half hours on level ground.

The Speed System

Like most commute e-bikes, this Ecotric is equipped with a 7-speed Shimano system. Some mountain e-bikes also use this system, which testifies to its capability.

Comfort

Where performance meets comfort in mountain bikes, it may not work like this in commuter e-bikes. For the latter, it’s all about improving the driver’s experience, even at the risk of sacrificing performance.

Unfortunately, this Ecotric model doesn’t use suspension forks, so you can expect to feel the road (but isn’t that what’s all sportscar drivers crave?). It does have an unicrown fork, but don’t expect it to do miraculous works.

On the other hand, the tires are something else on this e-bike. They’re 20” X 4”, which means that mud, snow, sand, and other soft terrains won’t present too many problems.

In fact, you won’t find a better set than a pair of 20” wheels and paired with 160mm disc brakes. There isn’t a better combination for urban e-cycling, for one. The brakes are also equipped with a system that immediately turns off the bike’s motor in the event of an abrupt stop.

Folding Frame

A commuter e-bike that’s not foldable is a bike that may not make a lot of sense. In fact, you can find cheap mountain e-bikes that are probably more practical.

The Ecotric Fat Tire Folding e-bike is very foldable in that it folds to half the frame. The handlebar is also foldable. When folded, this bike is only 39” long and 28” tall, which is definitely compact.

Now, it may not be the lightest bike around, but 51.2 lbs. is not a lot when you consider how sturdy this bike is. Plus, the extra sturdy build means that it can carry 240 lbs. of rider/luggage weight, which is quite something.

So, you can easily store this Ecotric inside your office, car, garage, etc. During the winter, it won’t take too much space at home. And its ability to fit inside any trunk gives some extra adaptability.

The Two Modes

Some bikes offer multiple modes of power. There are those that offer sport modes (though mostly mountain e-bikes), half-assisted modes, and so on.

As for the Ecotric Fat Tire Folding, it’s a bike that offers two basic modes. You can select the manual power-only mode and use it like a regular bike. Or you can engage the pedal-assist mode and turn it into an electric bike. For the latter, there are three pedal assist levels of low, mid, and high.

The throttle, however, isn’t thumb-activated. It’s the half-twist type that motorcycle riders are very familiar with. To propel this Ecotric model forward, just turn the throttle with your hand.

The LED Display

Like most modern electric bikes, the Ecotric Fat Tire Folding comes with a LED display, and in this case, it’s located on the handlebar. It’s like a smartphone that tracks everything related to the bike itself.

The display contains the bike’s battery level, pedal assist levels, on/off button, and cruise control setting.

You’ll find more information displayed on the screen, but these are the key features.

Other Accessories

Riding a bike, electric or otherwise, always comes with risk. This is why the Ecotric Fat Tire Folding e-bike features reflectors on the wheels, the front, and the rear.

The handlebar and the seat are also adjustable, but they’re not recommended for people beyond the range of 5’2” to 6’1” in height.

Summary

Commuting with this e-bike can be a ton of fun. Expect effortless rides, as the pedal-assist mode works perfectly. It’s almost as if it’s reading your mind. The moment you start pedaling, the motor is engaged, and everything becomes easier.

The Ecotric Fat Tire Folding is a foldable e-bike that comes with a powerful battery and motor for the money. It’s comfortable, fun, and fast. Mountain e-bikes can be used for commuting, but nothing beats a solid urban e-bike in this regard.

Cons

Hotebike Mountain Bike

If you’re looking for an electric bike that can work as a mountain bike and as a commuting bike at the same time, the Hotebike Mountain E-Bike is well worth taking a look at. It’s marketed as a mountain bike for its ability to tackle inclines and bumpy terrains, but in truth, it may have some limitations with regard to the motor power.

At its core, however, it can serve as a very capable e-bike for someone who cares about the environment but would rather avoid public transportation.

Motor

Any mountain e-bike is going to require a powerful motor. And this Hotebike comes with a rear-hub 350W brushless motor and a 36V intelligent controller.

The energy efficiency is 82% and it can go faster than perhaps you would ever need. And the best part is that it’s not noisy at all.

If you’re out in nature and enjoying the scenery, for example, the last thing you need is to have the sound of a loud motor ruin it for you. This bike doesn’t louder than 60 dB, which means you can rest easy about any undue noise pollution.

Battery

The battery is, of course, a critical on any e-bikes. The point is that you don’t want to have any problem recharging the thing.

With this Hotebike, the 10Ah lithium battery is securely hidden in the bike’s bar. The best part is that you can take out the battery, which will surely prove useful from time to time.

Also, the battery is installed in such a way that it’s waterproof. So, no worries about all those splashes or getting caught in the rain. The charging time is a reasonable 4 to 6 hours, which shouldn’t cause any outcry. By the way, you don’t always have the thing in full if you’re in a crunch and you’re only going a short distance.

You can also use this bike as a charging station for your phone. With a compatible USB cable, there’s a USB charging port that you can use to charge almost any portable devices.

Frame and Wheels

If you want a lightweight yet very durable bike that’s not too expensive, the most popular material is aluminum alloy, and that’s precisely the predominant material of the Hotebike Mountain e-bike. The suspension fork and the rim feel sturdy and strong, but the total weight of the bike is just 46 lbs.

The wheels on this particular model are 26 inches in diameter. That’s suitable for riders who are between 5’2” and 6’.

This doesn’t mean that a taller rider won’t be able to use the bike, just that it’s not going to be as comfortable. But, Hotebike offers the same model with 27.5” wheels, which works better for taller individuals.

Furthermore, the Hotebike Mountain E-Bike comes with Kenda 1.95’’ tires that are easy to replace and maintain. The tires also have excellent grip and are pretty resistant to wear and tear.

LCD Display

You’ll probably love the elaborate LCD display on this Hotebike. It’s just the right size, and it gives you a look at everything you need to keep an eye out for when riding. You have the battery indicator, distance covered, current motor usage, and the mode you’re currently using.

When buying an electric mountain bike, it’s important to pay attention to its performance. Let’s see what the Hotebike Mountain E-Bike has to offer.

Speed

The 20 mph top speed is probably more than most city commuters will need. But for other uses, the 20 mph might not seem all that fast anyway. Of course, that will depend on individual preferences too.

Furthermore, the maximum speed is rated on flat ground and assuming a rider of average weight. If your weight is above average and you have to go uphill, you’re not going to get anywhere near the rated top speed.

Mileage

The Hotebike Mountain E-Bike has an impressive range of 35-50 miles between charges. The exact distance will vary depending on how you use it, but the removable battery may well make a difference. For a mid-range mountain e-bike, the Hotebike is one that you may be able to ride for a long time in one go.

Weight Limit

Understandably, the weight limit is something to consider, especially for those who are pretty up there. However, you can rest assured that this Hotebike has a high capacity that goes up to 330 lbs.

Riding Modes

If you want three types of bikes at one price, the Hotebike offers three riding modes. You can use it simply as an e-bike and not pedal at all.

You can also use the PAS system (pedal assist mode), which is probably the most common way to ride an e-bike. Or you can use it as a standard bike when you want to get some cardio.

Brakes

The Hotebike Mountain e-bike features two 160mm disc brakes for the front and the rear. They are very reliable and responsive regardless of the weather conditions.

Assembly

The first thing you should know is that the company ships the bike and the battery separately for extra safety. Once you receive the package, you’ll see that the electrical system is put together, but not the rest of the bike. It’s on you to connect everything else, but there are video instructions.

Warranty

All Hotebike e-bikes come with a year-long warranty for the battery, motor, and controller. These are the electrical parts that are most likely to break down. You’ll find that most manufacturers offer longer warranties for the mechanical parts like the frame and the drivetrain and such.

Summary

This is one of the most popular Hotebike models and rightly so. It’s a wonderful choice if you like to ride a bike around town but also have design on the rougher terrains. It has a great price-to-performance ratio, and it’s created by a company that’s getting quite good at e-bikes.

Cons

AddMotor Mountain Bike

The AddMotor Mountain Bike has been designed for people who want to take their commute to another level and enjoy riding on biking trails on the weekends.

It’s an e-bike that’s perfectly at home with people who prefer to bike to work. The frame and wheel size of this AddMotor electric bike make it such that it’s suitable for taller people.

If you’re between 5’6” and 6’4”, this mountain e-bike will work for you. This is a fast bike that will cover a lot of distance and give you all the exhilaration you could ever ask for.

Motor

One of the most impressive features of the AddMotor Mountain e-bike is the motor. It’s a Bafang inner-rotor brushless motor. Its rear-mounted hub motor has a nominal output of 500W and a peak output of 750W.

Experiencing the AddMotor Mountain bike’s full capabilities is best achieved at higher speeds, and that’s why it’s a popular choice for those who love an adventurous mountain ride. The motor is quiet and will perform brilliantly whether you’re using the pedal assist mode or the twist throttle.

The hub motor keeps the otherwise high-end bike’s price relatively low, but it also comes with some limitations. It has less torque and might get a little overheated when you’re trying to tackle trickier inclines. However, that’s unlikely to happen very often for most riders.

Battery

The AddMotor Mountain Bike has a removable Panasonic 48V 11.6Ah lithium-ion battery. The charging time takes approximately four hours, which is around the average for most batteries of this capacity.

There is a slight inconvenience in the battery positioning, and it has to do with the fact when mounted, the charging port is in the way of the left crank arm.

So, when you’re charging the battery, there’s some risk of instability and a chance that the charging port could get damaged. Fortunately, you can avoid this problem by simply removing the battery for charging.

Brakes

Powerful and responsive brakes are a must in a proper mountain e-bike, and that’s exactly what AddMotor delivers here.

The bike uses the TEKTRO HD-500 203mm front and 180mm rear Hydraulic Disc brakes. It also has a hydraulic disc brake lever. This combination will provide smooth speed control and enough riding safety.

Frame and Wheels

The one-size frame is made of a very sturdy and durable aluminum-alloy. It has a full suspension, the better to help its rider tackle the roughest of terrains.

The front suspension fork has a 100mm travel, and you can even tighten it if necessary. The wheels are 27.5 inches in diameter, which makes it a bigger e-bike suitable for taller riders.

The tires are Maxxis 2’3’’, but it’s possible to replace them with BFTs (Big Fat Tires) if that’s what you’re looking for.

Display

It’s an AddMotor integrated and rather minimalist LCD display. Some riders might not like the fact that they can’t remove the screen or try to reduce the glare or adjust the angle. However, the display is quite bright, and the glare might not be an issue.

And there are also many benefits of the integrated display. It’s less likely to be stolen, and you also don’t have to worry about it falling off at full speed. The display also has two USB charging ports that you can use to charge your devices.

It’s also waterproof, which means you don’t have to worry about riding in the rain. The LCD informs you of the bike’s battery level, speed, and distance covered at all times.

Speed

Unsurprisingly, this e-bike is fast, and it delivers the best performance at full speed. The maximum speed is 28 mph, and that’s just when you’re in e-bike mode.

You’re likely to have fun riding around on mountain trails, but the bike will offer sufficient speed and comfort for a steady neighborhood ride.

Mileage

You don’t have to worry about the range because AddMotor’s Mountain Bike can cover a distance of up to 50 miles on one charge. When using the Level On Assist Pedal mode, it can even go as far as 60 miles. For a relatively inexpensive mountain e-bike, that’s a pretty impressive number.

Weight and Height Limit

As mentioned, this is an e-bike suitable for taller people, but anyone 5’6’’ or above will find it very comfortable.

The weight limit is 280 lbs., which is less than some e-bikes can handle, and the bike itself is around 70 lbs., making it slightly heavier than other e-bikes in the same category.

Who Is It for?

First of all, it’s not for anyone who can’t easily mount and dismount it. Other than that, it’s a truly amazing and versatile mountain e-bike. It’s for people who love to bike as an exercise but at the same time cover a lot of ground.

It’s also for folks who want to lower their carbon footprint and want a fast and safe e-bike that can go a long way between charges.

Summary

The AddMotor Mountain Bike stands out for more than one reason. The powerful and high-speed motor is likely to make you feel like you’re flying in the spirit of the word.

It’s the ultimate fun e-bike that also looks sleek and sporty. The big wheels and high-quality tires give you all the stability you need to conquer any trail in front of you.

And the responsive brakes and levers allow you to control the speed at turns. Overall, this is a very nice e-bike that’s built to last and capable of delivering many fun rides.

It’s perhaps a little bulkier than other e-bikes in the same category, but you’d have to consider the large seat, as well as the fat tires that will deliver maximum comfort and enjoyment on your daily ride.

Cons

SDU SDREAM T350 Electric Mountain Bike

The SDREAM T350 is definitely a mountain electric bike through and through. It looks the part and feels safe and sturdy. Despite this, many people choose to use the T350 as a commuter e-bike. It’s more than capable of bringing them safely and comfortably from point A to point B and without too much effort.

Still, the SDU SDREAM T350 is a force to be reckoned with. It remains a mountain e-bike that can perform brilliantly in rough terrain. Here’s more about SDU’s SDREAM T350.

The Build

For mountain electric bikes, the build quality plays a vital role in how they’ll perform. As if in spite of the T350’s affordable price and commuting capabilities, this SDU is still a mountain bike at its core. This means that it has to perform well on potholed roads and in any weather or soil conditions.

The No. 1 factor here is the build quality. Often, manufacturers go with light materials that aren’t sturdy enough. Although weight is a crucial factor in mountain e-bikes, this should never be at the cost of strength.

One of the most popular materials is of course aluminum, or more specifically, the various alloys of Al.

The material is sturdy enough to withstand impacts yet light enough for portability and not weighing down the ride. Furthermore, aluminum has become reasonably cheap nowadays. That’s the material used for the bulk of the T350 e-bike, making it very convenient for any outdoor conditions.

The Battery

The battery can make or break a mountain electric bike. It dictates how well the bike can perform, to begin with.

And the SDU SDREAM T350 fares good enough in this department. First, the battery is rated at 48V and 10.4Ah, which is typical for e-bikes of this price range. The battery can safely power the 350W rear-hub motor.

You can expect a range of up to 50 miles on a single charge, and the bike’s rated top speed is 20 mph. Of course, you’re probably not going to get 50 miles if you’re traveling at 20 mph throughout, just a car’s fuel consumption goes up at top-end speeds.

But numbers aren’t the only thing that’s important for mountain bike batteries. In fact, the safety of the battery itself matters a lot. If the battery isn’t properly tucked away, for example, it can easily get damaged. You may zip through a puddle and short out the battery. Or, hit a branch awkwardly and have the electronics go haywire.

In this regard, the T350’s battery is built into the frame to minimize any potential outside damage.

The battery is also detachable, and this e-bike can be used as a regular mountain bike. Another benefit of a removable battery is that you can charge it separately. This means that you’ll be able to charge the battery at the office without actually bringing the whole thing next to your desk.

Performance and Comfort

The top speed and range of 20 mph and 50 miles are right up there with the more expensive e-bikes. However, in terms of performance, the drivetrain is probably even more important.

Now, the gear shifter could’ve had more gears, but this is an entry-level mountain e-bike. You probably don’t want to have too many choices as a beginner.

The tires are 1.95” wide and mounted on 27” spoked wheels, which is more than enough for most mountain roads. Now, you’d be advised to avoid any extreme inclines, even though the T350 can probably handle it. Provided that you’re an experienced mountain biker, that is.

In addition, one could probably say that comfort has a few things to do with overall performance. The front suspension on the T350 is a classic example. While it makes it easier to go over more demanding terrains, it also brings you more comfort as you ride. The SDU SDREAM T350’s front suspension is pretty nice, especially for the price.

Safety

As you know, bicycles are so prone to theft in the United States that you’ll have a hard time finding an insurance company that’ll insure them.

The T350, however, features a remote control for locking/unlocking the bike. You can also use this system to turn the alert on or off and to sound the alarm. Although a thief probably won’t be able to ride the bike away, you bet they can still carry it away. This is why it’s recommended that you secure the bike to a bike rack, in addition to this bike’s safety features.

In any event, most e-bikes don’t come with as many safety features as this one.

LCD Display

The LCD display on the SDU SDREAM T350 shows the speedometer and other features that you may wish to see when riding. However, it’s more than a screen in that it’s also smart. You can use the T350’s LCD display to adjust the level of assistance, record mileage, show riding statistics, and more. It’ll also alert you of any defects and stuff.

Basically, it’s almost as if you’re riding a mountain e-bike that acts like a high-end recumbent exercise bike. The screen is water-resistant and fairly sturdy.

Warranty

There is a one-year warranty with the SDU SDREAM T350. It applies to the motor, battery, controller, charger, and the dashboard. This may not seem like much, but that’s what you’re going to get for electronic components. The warranty on the mechanical components like the frame will of course be longer.

Summary

The SDU SDREAM T350 looks and feels like a more expensive mountain e-bike. That’s because you’re getting useful features, great handling, comfort, and performance. If you’re looking for an entry-level mountain e-bike that can satisfy your commuting needs, this might just end your search right here.
